Senses

The smell of fresh baked bread in the morning,
The smell of dawn with dew upon the grass,
The smell of scented talc in a baby's swaddling,
Such simple aromas across our nostrils pass,

The sight of a garden rich in colour and flora,
The sight of puppies as they learn how to play,
The sight of a rainbow arc of beautiful colour,
Such simple visions with our memories stay,

The sound of a dawn chorus of birds singing,
The sound of children voices having a tale to tell,
The sound of church bells in the village ringing,
Such simple sounds tell us that all is well

The touch of a loved one when you are lonely,
The touch of someone holding your hand,
The touch lovingly intended for you only,
Such simple touches like grains of warm sand,

The taste so hot and spicy, can even make you cry ,
The taste dancing so deliciously upon your tongue,
The taste of new discoveries, new flavours that we try
Such simple feelings are for both the old and young,
